Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl
Serious about offering bowling fun for everyone!
As a professional, ranked the 18th greatest bowler of all time and inducted into the PBA’s (Professional Bowling Association) and USBC’s (United States Bowling Congress) Halls of Fame, Wayne Webb knows the business of bowling. So when he and his wife, Elaine, were presented an opportunity to partner with two others in the purchase of what was then known as Rainbow Lanes (a bowling center in the heart of Ohio) they jumped on it. Two and a half years ago they moved their family from Sacramento, California to Grove City, Ohio and immediately started a million dollar plus renovation to the South High Street space, adding forty-eight shiny new lanes, new scoring screens, a new lighting and sound system and a full service restaurant and bar. “We wanted to create a bowling experience in Columbus that raised the bar on family-friendly fun,” states Elaine Webb. “We’ve put so much of ourselves into this business and into this community and I’m glad to say that it is paying off in dividends,” she continues.
In 2011, Waye Webb’s Columbus Bowl hosted the USBC’s Senior Masters and, in 2013, will be one of the hosting centers for Bowling’s US Open. The event represents an unprecedented collaboration between Wayne Webb’s CB and two other local bowling centers to bring the event to Columbus for the first time in its history. Webb is also proud to support robust local high school bowling programs and welcomes back the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s State Bowling Championships again in March of 2013. Webb states, “Hosting these big events is a lot of fun because they raise the profile of the sport and our facility. But we also enjoy being known as a local entertainment center for all levels and ages of bowlers. We host a ton of birthday, corporate, and holiday parties and offer a wide-variety of leagues from which to choose.”
Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl also offers daily bowling specials including the ever-popular ‘Cosmic Bowling’ on Friday and Saturday nights from 11 pm – 2 am, which is a little like disco-dance-party meets bowling-fun. Cosmic bowling is also expected to play a large role in Webb’s upcoming New Year’s Eve parties. The first party, from 5 – 8 pm, is family friendly and allows up to five people three hours of bowling, a large single-topping pizza, a pitcher of pop, and party favors for only $69.95. The second party, from 10 pm – 2 am includes four hours of bowling enjoyment for up to four bowlers, a Mexican buffet, party favors and a non-alcoholic champagne toast. “Last year we packed the house and I’m sure we’re going to again this year,” boasts Webb. “It’s a great value for the money and everyone, including kids, will be bowled-over by all of the fun!”

Katzinger’s Deli in German Village has always been known for its fine selections of breads, meats, and cheeses. In fact, they’ve garnered national acclaim for their classic take on Jewish fare, and many make pilgrimages (or at least go out of their way) to ensure a stop at Katzinger’s.
